Our kids program teaches actual JiuJitsu from day one. Even our youngest students learn real technique, positions, and submissions. We use games and drills to keep training fun, but the focus is on developing legitimate grappling skills that work. They're learning the same fundamental techniques adults use, just taught in an age-appropriate way.
But what parents really notice is how their child grows as a person. Kids learn to handle frustration, stay focused under pressure, and approach challenges with confidence instead of quitting. They'll develop discipline, respect, and the kind of resilience that helps them succeed in everything they do.

Summit teaches kids more than just a fun activity. We help build essential life skills, giving kids the mental and physical tools they need to navigate life's challenges.
Your child will learn how to actually defend themselves because you won't always be there to protect them at school, with friends, or in the world. We work together with you as parents to build confident, capable kids who can handle themselves physically and mentally. We're here to help you raise strong children.
In JiuJitsu, kids experience winning and losing every single day. This is one of the most important parts of training. They learn what it means to be truly tough: to fall and stand up without crying or panicking, to not be scared when someone grabs them, to not feel intimidated talking to people or facing challenges. This kind of resilience and mental toughness carries into everything they do.
JiuJitsu is an individual sport, but you can't get better without your partners. This teaches kids to respect hierarchy, work as a team, and help their training partners improve, even when they're trying to beat each other. Training gives kids opportunities to learn what it means to be a good teammate, and understand that being strong also means lifting others up.

Our classes for ages 4-7 focus on building coordination, listening skills, and basic jiujitsu movements through fun and engaging activities. We mainly focus on techniques that help kids control their partners and escape from holds, because these are realistic scenarios for this age group. We incorporate plenty of competitive games so kids learn how to handle both winning and losing.
This class is more technical and more focused than the younger group. Kids learn modern techniques, how to problem-solve with a partner, and how to stay calm under pressure. Everything is taught in a way that keeps beginners comfortable while still challenging more experienced kids. Classes include drilling and controlled live training.

If you look at our schedule you'll notice we have two types of classes ("Gi" and "No-Gi"). This refers to the type of uniform used in the class.
In a Gi class, you wear a traditional martial arts uniform called a gi (or kimono), which allows for grips and techniques using the uniform itself.
In NoGi class, you train in athletic clothing like rash guards and shorts, with techniques adjusted for the lack of grips on clothing.
We have uniforms here in stock at the front desk that you can purchase at sign-up and we will give your child a free rental uniform during their free trial.
Yes! Unlike most BJJ gyms, we encourage parents to stay and watch. We have seating available so you can see your child's progress and be part of their journey. It also gives us a chance to get to know you.
We just ask that you don't coach from the sidelines, stay off the mats and keep noise to a minimum.
We want you here... just help us keep the training environment focused and productive for all the kids.
Yes, there are local and national BJJ competitions for kids of all ages and skill levels.
Competition is a great way to build confidence, test skills, and learn how to perform under pressure.
It's completely optional: never required. If your child is interested, our instructors will help them prepare and guide you through the process.
It's completely normal. Some of the kids who've been with us the longest literally cried because they didn't want to get on the mat at first. New experiences can be scary, but kids get comfortable over time.
Our instructors are great at helping shy kids feel comfortable. We'll take things slowly, let them ease in at their own pace, and make sure their first experience is positive. You'd be surprised how quickly nervous kids come out of their shell once they're on the mats.
Bring them to watch a class first if that helps. Seeing other kids their age having fun usually puts them at ease.
Yes, but let's be honest… BJJ is a full-contact grappling sport, so bumps, bruises, and scratches happen. That's part of training.
What's rare are serious injuries. Our instructors closely supervise all training, teach proper technique from day one, and emphasize safety and control.
Statistically, BJJ has fewer injuries than most youth sports like soccer, basketball, or football.
And over time, BJJ actually teaches kids how to be safe: how to fall without getting hurt, how to control their bodies, and how to stay calm in physical situations. These are skills that protect them in real life, not just on the mats.
